Thanks for another awesome event! It's always a good time up there rain or shine; mostly rain, in this case.
And a warm welcome to those new members we had the chance to meet. We hope you can join us again in January at the Fire and Ice shoot.
We hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July!
With the unofficial start of Summer in the Northwest underway, the NPA is gearing up for some exciting upcoming events. We are also investigating new opportunities for events and shoots. Stay tuned!
For our second shoot of the year, we setup at a new location in Crescent Bar just along Columbia Lake; it was great shoot, as always. Once again the NPA rocked the sky and gave many spectators the best fireworks show they have ever seen. Thank you to everyone who participated in making this event a success!
Thank you so much for hosting another fantastic NPA event! From the heated tent, to the music, the wonderful food, running our equipment back and forth, I know everyone had a great time. Thanks to our newest members for coming out and braving the cold, and for everyone who brought the custom-built shells and did the Saturday night show. Absolutely stellar weekend!
Also thank you to all the members and guests who brought so much and worked so hard. What an amazing experience.
As 2013 comes to an end, it's a good time to reflect on all the wonderful things the NPA has accomplished this year. Among some of the more memorable accomplishments are: A new storage magazine, some of the most amazing fireworks displays in the Northwest, and an ever-growing member base of the best members we could ask for.
So goodbye 2013, you've been good to us. Hello 2014. And here's a another year of pyrotechnic greatness! Happy New Year to all.
Thanks once again to Steve and Northwest Pyro. It's nice to have a simple little laid back open shoot with no stress. Ferndale is a lot of hand lighting fun. We're looking forward to seeing everyone there again for the Spring Shoot.
A HUGE thanks goes out to everyone who helped put on another amazing show. And what a show it was! Last but not least thanks to the land owners allowing us to use their field...It really can't be said enough, terrific place for the shoot.
Our first-timer lead pyro did an amazing job. And everyone did such great work on this event; the end result speaks for itself. Check out the photos and video below.
Several of our NPA members attended this year's PGI convention in PA. As one member reported back, "the displays here are off the hook". See the opening night video below.
A huge congrats goes out to our newly certified PGI Display Operators, who passed the certifaction course this year!
We hope you all had a safe and fun-filled Independence Day. Let's never forget all those who sacrificed so much for the freedoms that are granted to us by this great nation, and don't forget to take time to think about the big picture beyond fireworks and what this day is really all about.
Happy Independence Day!
The NPA would like to wish all the dads out there a Happy Father's Day! Of course we celebrated with a fireworks extravaganza :)
Thank you again to Parties on the Green for hosting us for this occasion.
The NPA returned "home" to gather for our annual business meeting followed by the Ferndale Spring Shoot.
The business meeting went really well. We got all of our issues out in the open, and we had very good discussions on all topics. It's incredible how many intelligent and experienced people we have in this club. And I'm impressed at how much our members have stepped up to make this club happen. It really is a privilege to be in this club. I can't say that enough. Thank you all for all you do.
Steve, thanks again for hosting another fabulous event. We all really appreciate it!
This year featured an exciting assortment of set pieces: an NPA set piece, a wheel of awesome, an uber tank and as always the tower of terror. Please enjoy this enjoy taken by one of our members.
So many thanks to Kim and Kent Bacon for hosting us again. The food, heavy equipment, the site... Oh my!
The builders' product was phenomenal! The 1.4g guys donated a huge amount out of pocket and that was a great shoot. The folks who did so much for food (Richard, Melissa) that was awesome.
The set up and cleanup folks, you guys rock! To everyone who made it, there's no club without the members; and we have some mighty fine ones.
Below is a video of The Big Shells, a set of three 12" shells and a 16", fired at the event.
The pyro season is near, and the NPA is gearing up for what is sure to be a grand ol' time. We have started planning for our next three major events; Quincy Spring Shoot, Ferndale Spring Shoot, and Quincy Father's Day. Join us as a guest, or choose from our many membership options to partake in the festivities.
This is a season you don't want to miss!
Starting 2013 off right the NPA had a little pyro in the snow for this year's Fire n Ice, featuring a daytime show, a 16 inch shell, and a very nice night show. Let's not forget the great food, music, and dancing :) Thank you to our hosts for making this event happen.
Happy New Year to all!
It sounds like everyone had a great night. Some of us had fireworks shows to perform, others watched neighborhood pyros light up the skies, and yes there were those of who stayed in an watched the Space Needle fireworks from the uncrowded comforts of home. However you celebrated the end of 2012, we hope you did so safely and enjoyed the evening.
2012 was a huge year for the NPA. Let's make this new year a blast and enjoy a successful, safe, and fun 2013.
Yet another success story for the NPA! What rain?! Despite the less-than-desirable weather conditions, the club still gathered in Ferndale for fireworks and socializing. We got rained on a couple of times, but it let up long enough to have a good display before it started pouring again. The tank battle was awesome. After several boards and singles, including a 436 Billion dollar cake, we were forced back inside by the rain and got to visit and meet people.
Big Thank You to Steve! Nice little pyro party :)
Spectacular! Spectacular! This weekend the NPA performed the largest show in its history as a club. A donation from the city, much funding from the very generous members of this club, and countless hours of effort went into this momentous occassion. Words cannot describe this show, but it will certainly be remembered as "the one". Words cannot describe, view the pictures and video below and see for yourself :)
The NPA would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July! This day occurs just once a year. In the northwest, July 4th often marks the unofficial "beginning" of summer. But to all of us it is a time to celebrate our freedoms and liberties. Let's celebrate safely :)
Happy Father's Day! This weekend, the NPA celebrated Father's Day with ... fireworks, of course. As always the Kent farm was a fantastic event venue. We thank Kent and his family for inviting us to spend the weekend hanging out, eating great food, and shootin' fireworks :)
This shoot, as many others have said, always feels like home. A huge THANK YOU goes out to Steve and his family for hosting this event. The new site layout is great, and it was good to see everyone again. Now, on to the festivities!
First, the daytime boards and firecrackers were very fun. I think we're going to start giving the night show a run for its money soon :)
Up next, the epic tank battle! The tanks were crazy this year. I don't think anyone was expecting the amount of complexity and variety these tanks were built with. Excellent job guys!
We can't forget the Tower of Terror. This year, through unforseen circumstances, we were treated to two towers of terror! Yes, two :) And both of them lived up to the name.
Finally we have the night show, spectacular as always. There was the traditional Saturn Missile board from Mindset, a very nice variety of 1.4G product boards, and a fun new gas mine this year :)
It's been a few months since our last NPA shoot, and many of us have been fighting the itch for quite some time. Well Spring is here, and we all know what that means. It's time to shake the dust off those torches, unpack the racks, and pull some product out of storage! This weekend was filled with two days of fireworks at Kent's farm in Quincy, WA. We had everything from salute cannons to fountains, 1.4G consumer products, fun rockets of all kinds, and up to 8" shells...a lot of 8" shells.
The builder products were impressive as always, with some newbies learning valuable lessons in proper rack construction and the safety benefits of hdpe.
1.3G professional products were supplied by our good friends at Wolverine. These products never fail to impress, and we are very fortunate to have their support and friendship.
Thanks again to Kent and his crew for making this another wonderful event. Thanks for the food, for the hospitality, and for all of the good times you allow us to have.
Last but not least, thank you to the entire club and it's officers and board members. None of this would be possible without the support of all the club's members, guests, and supportive friends and families.
NPA member Jimmyzip extended an invitation to the club for a night at his place in Ephrata, WA. The event was a great success thanks in part to our gracious hosts and solid turnout of members to give a helping hand. The photography skills above are courtesy of our very own member, Hoku.
Our very own Epic Overlord Tank Battle took place at the Ferndale NPA Fall Shoot 2011. Big thank you to Bryan and Charles for the ringside seats to the battle royale.
The 2011 Quincy Balloon Festival shoot was a huge success thanks in part to over 50 members showing up to give a hand in what was our largest 1.3g and 1.4g mixed display yet. The NPA guys and gals can be proud of the rave review from the Quincy Valley Post-Register, calling it a "mind-blowing fireworks show." Video courtesy of our fellow member Hoku.
The first ever NPA Spring Shoot 2011 was one hell of a show! We had a nice turnout and a huge thank you goes out to our host, the owner of Northwest Pyro (Steve). See the video above, courtesy of fellow member Blaze.45, for a small sample of the finale.
We have established partnerships with the federal, state, and local government, as well as wholesalers/retailers and land-owners to create a healthy and reliable pyrotechnic display network that is unprecedented for this part of the region. We hope you join us for money saving opportunities and to take part in the events and celebrations coming up in June and July!

Membership for the 2011 annual season is open for enrollment!
We have achieved our initial goals and are now striving to provide safety classes and shoots for our growing membership... please show your support and visit our membership info page to start the application process. We are now fully insured and have established a healthy network of shoot sites in and around the northwest. The next step will be meeting BATFE requirements, continuing to add to our network of shoot sites, and continue event planning even through the "off-season".
As we kick things off for 2011, the board members and I want to thank you for your time and contributions to the pyrotechnic arts. We all look forward to serving you through the coming season and beyond.
